On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, in Louisville, Kentucky Activist/Musician Trae The Truth was arrested along with over 85 other people, including Houston Texans Kenny Stills and Porsha Williams of the TV show "Real Housewives of Atlanta." The group was peacefully protesting the shooting and killing of Breonna Taylor inside her home by Louisville Metro Police officers on March 10, 2020. More than 100 people were organized by the social justice organization Until Freedom, a group designed to address systemic and racial injustice.
The Until Freedom Group protested outside of the Louisville home of Black Attorney General Daniel Jay Cameron. According to a statement released by Louisville Police, protesters were arrested "due to their refusal to leave the property and their attempts to influence the decision of the attorney general with their actions."
Cameron has been under intense scrutiny by the public due to him not charging the officers involved in the death of Breonna Taylor. The investigation is ongoing with one officer, Brett Hankison, fired. The Louisville Police Department still employs the other two officers, Myles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly. After being released, Trae The Truth took to Instagram and Tagged Daniel Jay Cameron in a post captioned "You Called To Make Sure We All Got A Felony .... Its All Good, I'll Take It For Our People.... #justiceforbreonnataylor"
